





Casting news: 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips
We’re pleased to announce the cast for Kneehigh at the Globe’s 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips, which opens here on Saturday 11 August.
After
a critically acclaimed 2015 run at Kneehigh’s Asylum,Emma Rice’s family show will be brought to London for the first
time, before embarking on a major international tour of the UK and US.
Directed by Emma Rice and co-adapted from the novel by Emma Rice and Michael Morpurgo, the production will include the following cast:
Nandi Bhebhe (Tips The Cat / Harry), Adebayo Bolaji (Blues Man), Emma Darlow (Madame Bounine), Ncuti Gatwa (Adi), Kyla Goodey (Lily’s Mum), Chris Jared (Grandad Present/ Vicar/ Lily’s Dad), Katy Owen (Lily), Mike Shepherd (Grandma/ Grandpa), Adam Sopp (Barry) and Ewan Wardrop (Lord Something-Or-Other/ Mrs Turner). The character of Blues Man will be played by Akpore Uzoh on tour, replacing Adebayo Bolaji after the London run.
The production will tour in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Berkeley Repertory Theatre, opening here at the Globe before travelling to Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Warwick and Bristol and then on to venues in the US including Berkeley Repertory theatre and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the performing Arts, Los Angeles.
