“…all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts…”

As You Like It, 2009 © John Tramper - The first play I saw at the Globe when I joined the Communications Team

It has been a huge privilege to be part of the Globe and its wider family. My time here will be the source of many tales, happy memories and secret smiles.

You will hear many people say this but, the Globe is a uniquely wonderful place and because of this it attracts uniquely wonderful people; whether they be staff, performers, lecturers or audience members. I am glad that this community stretches far and wide in time and space and makes me feel that though I am leaving, I am still a part of something bigger.

Thank you to all of you who have joined me on my journey here, through the warrens of social media, which I think, and hope you’ll agree, have blossomed into some very special places in the digital landscape.

It has been such fun being in a place where I can test my creativity and wit to try and make people laugh, learn or discover something new through Shakespeare and his words. I have been constantly delighted by the inventiveness and willingness of the Globe audience to go to those silly, though-provoking and sometimes moving places with me. (If you follow the Globe on Twitter you may recall such fun as replacing words in Shakespeare quotes with the word ‘penguin’, extremely silly and very funny.) It is because of all this that this ‘job’ has hardly felt like a job at all, but more a window into a magical world of make-believe made real.

I cannot guarantee I am even half as interesting ‘off-stage’ and not talking about Shakespeare, but if you’d like to find out what’s happening in the world of museums, my next venture, you can follow me on Twitter @Sian_Estelle.
